Answer» Win 98
I've just installed Win 98 and, in trying to install an update to CD Creator, I received message "insufficient disk space to apply patch. NEED at least 17242590 bytes free on drive." My C: drive has 74.1G of free space. This update has to be written to my Temp folder. How can I add space to the Temp folder or correct this error? How can this be avoided in the FUTURE, if you know? I don't have many programs added to the PC yet.
Thanks for your usual help!http://www.microsoft.com/games/mechwarrior4/mw4_update_v3.rtf When I CHECK the C: drive's Properties it shows 74.1 GB free space. The install was done by a programmer, so I'm assuming he knows what he's doing. Never had that problem before. What's your suggestion? Reformat and reinstall? Thanks.
Peccavi, what's that update for? Thanks.Windows 98 uses FAT32 which can not work with partitions over 32GB in sizeThen someone is telling LIES mistaken, who?FAT32 supports up to 2TB (2000GB), same as NTFS. BTW, my Win98 partition has no problem recognizing a 47GB partition. From DOS or Windows, it matters not.So there you go, thanks CC. I had the same problem once but it was while installing a program that wasnt compatible with 98 SE could that be your problem
