Answer» Hello, If I have to use internet connection sharing, then do I need to have a disk or something to transfer settings from one computer to the other? You should treat setting up a home network and internet connection sharing as TWO separate issues. No you don't need "disk or something to transfer settings from one computer to the other" for internet connection sharing; but it is SOMETIMES used to setup the underlying Local Area Network (LAN) configuration to permit file and printer sharing within the Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) and possibly the wireless access configuration. My personal preference is to manually setup these configurations as it forces you to learn what's involved (which will ALLOW you to maintain it down the road). To access the internet from both computers using Internet Connection Sharing does not require a setup disk. The sooner you start, the sooner you'll know what you don't know. |
