Solve : internet connection on ME? |

Answer» I am working on a neighbors computer. the computer had some system files missing so i repaired the windows installation. after that, i could not connect to the internet. i can ping my internal loop back so i know tcp is working properly. i can also ping my default gateway and the google web server. I reinstalled winsock and winsock2, but i still cannot connect to the internet. After all this, i reinstalled IE and am now running IE6SP1. any other ideas?How did you reinstall ME?YES yes I think this is the best reply ever.... anything else you need?Did you run the "Internet Connection Wizard" assuming ME has one. Start>PROGRAMS>Accessories>Communications...Did you reformat or overwrite?Yep, that is definitely PART of the HOW. Program Files/Internet Explorer/Connection Wizard/inetwiz.exe is what you need. Go to the Run menu and browse for this file. |
