Answer» Hello, just recently i have noticed some unusual behavior in my computer. I have previously posted a log and it is said to be clean, soo ? So you need to post in the correct forum. Topic moved to the Microsoft Windows forumRouter involved? Quote from: Broni on October 25, 2008, 12:41:58 PM Router involved? Yes, there is a wireless router which i am connected too. But for some reason every now and then my connection to that router is lost and i cannot reconnect to it, even though it is shown in the network connecting page.Desktop, or laptop? Try to WIRE your computer to the router, and see, if you have same problems. If no help, bypass the router, and connect straight to the modem.Desktop, problem is my computer is about 15m away from the router. So i dont have any cords long enought to do that. And before you say thats too far away, its not, its the recommended distance. It also doesn't exceed recommended distance to carry your desktop near router/modem, and try my steps hmm, but that wouldn't explain why my internet is continously disconnecting. And not alowing me to reconnect? What I'm saying is to lift up your desktop, and carry it to modem's location.do you have an anti virus? Sometimes the programs can interfere with internet connections. It happened to me. May I also add that the driver software for my wireless card is from 2005? I tried UPDATING the other day and it screwed the whole card, it was rendered in operable. So i had to system restore. Yes i do have anti-virus, im running Avast 4 home edition.sorry, but i didnt think AV is the problem here. It might only resulted because of -as you say- software / system driver problem, or MAYBE networking fault. have you tried re-install network components? steps is: open up add/remove program -> SELECT add/remove window components -> first untick(remove) networking SERVICES -> restart your computer -> then select(tick) again the networking components. |
