Answer» Hi, I'm not a newbie when it comes to computers and never asked for help before (well, a few times in the very beginning, I guess, when I just bought my first computer – but that's a long time ago!). Normally my family and friends are asking me for help when they have problems with their computers an I'm the one who solves them... But now I have an internet related problem with my PC and I am really stuck!
I like to solve chess problems and do so on a regular basis on http://www.chess.com. Since a couple of weeks HOWEVER I'm not able to solve them anymore! When I click on the diagram another page opens (which is absolutely normal) and on that page the chess problem should load – but it doesn't! The only thing I see is a tiny little square turning and turning and turning... and a message which is saying “loading”... but nothing happens!
Whichever browser I use the problem is still the same. Despite that I assume that this is NOT a problem on chess.com, and it can't be a browser related problem either. So there must be something wrong with my internet settings, but I can't figure it out. I also checked the Flash player settings but couldn't find anything unusual to me.
Any ideas?Hi! I myself you chess.com and i know exactly what you are talking about! To tell you the truth, I don't think it's a flash problem. chess.com doesn't use flash at all i know that for a fact so it wouldn't be something wrong with your flash. It actually sounds to me as if it's a problem with chess.com especially if the loading screen comes up. It almost sounds like a ddos attack but then I WOULD think the entire website would be blocked. Check your javascript settings to make sure they are enabled but other than that, log something with chess.com if that doesn't work.Have never used that site but in order to TRY and assist you i just used your link and the site opens with no problem. I was also able to access items within the site with no delays. So i tend to think the site is ok. Are you having any similar issues with other web sites? I am using Opera 11:50 by the way. Have you altered or added anything new to the computer coincident with this problem? truenorthMaybe you need to update your java if the site uses it. Have you posted the problem at their FORUM? http://www.chess.com/forum/category/help-support?
