Solve : Is it possible to install windows xp pro over vista & keep your data??

Answer»

Is there a easy way of doing that?if you install xp to a different FOLDER then c:\windows you can use multiple operating systems, but removing vista completely and replacing it with xp its not unless you backup your data to cds or a webserver QUOTE from: diablo416 on June 25, 2008, 09:42:58 PM

No, that wont WORK. Although, you can dual boot Windows XP and Vista if you install them on different partitions.

As for what you're asking, I don't know it's possible. I think there is something to upgrade Windows but I'm not sure,i see, i dident know that.. im guessing the reason is because vista uses ntfs2?NTFS2?? Never heard of that... I think Vista uses the same format as XP.

I meant you cannot simply install Vista over XP and keep your files.what version of windows vista are you using.... because you can only downgrade to windows xp if you have vista business.

that is what the guy in the comp store told me. it doesnt matter if you format the hard drive either Quote from: programming_pat on June 26, 2008, 04:03:41 AM
