Solve : Isass.exe - System Error? |
|
Answer» A friend of mine has a problem with her PC. Isass.exe - System ErrorAfter click OK or close the dialogue box, the computer restarts. And it will happen again. It is running Win XP (not sure about any SP), Celeron 1.70 Ghz, 256MB RAM. I've checked around the internet and there are suggestions about problem with hibernation, bad RAM or corrupted Windows. My friend was not trying to hibernate the PC prior to the issue. She's not so computer literate so she cannot TELL what exactly she has done before the error. She was doing something with Norton Systemwork and after restarted, the error happened. I've tried to re-sit and replace the RAMs, but still same. As for corrupted Windows, reinstallation is the last resort. Any idea? Thanks.Isass or lsass? Be careful with this one.Fed is correct...these are 2 different beasts.Sorry about the confusion, just realize that there are both Isass.exe and lsass.exe Since I don't know what is the font type of Windows dialogue box header, I CREATED 2 folders NAMED Isass and lsass respectively. And the error message seems to be lsass.exe Please REFER images attached. Thanks. There are no attached images...Error attaching file. Can you start in safe mode, if so then do a windows search for Isass.exe.What do I do with the file? (I'm on my own CPU now, so better ask before I switch)The first thing i would have her do is DLoad and update Ewido...Then turn off system restore...dis-connect from the web and re-boot into safemode and run the Ewido scan...If you find Isass then run Ewido/AVG Online Scan under safe mode + networking. [edit]You're too fast Patio. LOL![/edit]Her computer don't have Ewido and only has 56K connection.... But I can install Ewido in Safe Mode, right? (Not sure about that :-P)Yes it will install in safemode...if she has a slow connection DLoad it on your machine, copy it to her's and add it to your protection arsenal.... |
