Answer» I have Windows XP SP3. Firefox browser, Thunderbird E-mail, Comodo firewall and Spybot S&D installed. Recently I have not been able to view links to Javescript PICTURES on web pages. I have Java and Javascript enabled in my browser and just upgraded to the latest Java 6. The hour glass appears when | click a link but nothing further. This has only just happened. I think I had notification that a new version of Javascript was available, which I downloaded. I have viewed the FAQ PAGE without success, any help please? It is not a great problem just annoying, especially as it was working fine a short while ago. Thank you.Try to go to the earlier version of java that you are using and see what will happen.I had Java 5 installed and had the problem. I have now installed the updated Java 6 and the problem is still there. ( can't see how reverting to the older version will help) I am not sure if this is anything to do with the problem, I just thought I should say what changes I had tried. Thank you.Thanks. It SEEMS I may have had the problem for longer than I thought. I tried system restore to a date six weeks before and have the same problem. I think it must be Firefox because I can access the same links in IE with no problem. Reluctant to try restoring any further back because of what I may loose ( I loose Yahoo toolbar for example) Any other suggestions or from ANYBODY please.Java has absolutely positively nothing to do with JavaScript.
try Firefox Safe mode in the start menu, and see if the links work.Thanks. I have decided to uninstall and then reinstall Firefox, as I now now that it is the browser problem. There is no problem with IE.Sounds to me, like an issue with a plugin. Of course reinstalling would restore the default plugins, I believe.Seems like un-installing is not quite that simple either. The instructions I have is to remove Firefox from the "add remove programmes list" It is not even listed there, it looks like I have to delete folders relating to Firefox and this can be done as a complete clean
BC. I have tried it in safe mode and the link works. Any more help please?
Failing that someone has pointed me in the direction of Revo uninstaller, so I might have to go down that route.
