Solve : JPS / JPG thumbnail Windows XP Explorer? |
|
Answer» There is a filetype that is called JPS (same as JPEG, except with "STEREO" attached) More and more applications are beginning to use the .JPS filetype. I am NOT interested in renaming .JPS to .JPEG / .JPG.Perhaps you could mention what applications use this file extension ....other than perhaps "Print Studio" Is the attached image the type of thing your referring to: dl65 Yes, this side by side image is exactly the type of file. gallery http://www.stereophoto.co.uk/main.html http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jtozour1/index.html software to make stereo images (just jpg with different extension) http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stphmkr/index.html Again, what I want to do is to TELL windows that JPS IS actually a JPG and to deal with the JPS file exactly the same way as a JPG file so I can view the "jpg" thumbnail in explorer. I already have software to deal with .JPS files appropriately. It would similar to telling windows that a .DOCUMENT file is the same as a .DOC file Maybe this will also help clarify some things. 8-)fffreakThere are many aps and plugins to deal with JPS filetypes. I'm not trying to find aps to view JPS filetypes. All I want to do is to tell windows explorer to deal with JPS the same way as a JPG file, so I can view the thumbnail in explorer. for example: Take a JPG file in explorer and rename it with a JPS extension. Now how do you tell windows explorer to view the thumbnail of that? a registry hack? thank-you! OPEN an Explorer window. Choose Tools / File Types. There you can manually add the correct extension so Windows will now see it as a genuine file type... Whether Explorer is intuitive enough to create thumbnails for these well that's another story. patio. 8-)Yes, i SUPPOSE windows XP isn't smart enough to figure it out. It would be very nice to be able to view these thumbnails in windows explorer. 8-)Did you try the suggestion ? ?Yes. |
