Solve : Keep getting "Corrupt installation" errors. Help??

Answer»

Hey guys,
Recently I've stumbled along a re-occuring error which happens every time I download and try to install a program.
Upon doing so, I am greeted with a "Corrupt installation file" message or a "NSIS error, due to corrupt file" message. So, therefore I'm unable to install / run these programs due to this.
It seems that everything I'm downloading is SOMEWHAT ''corrupt'', but it can't be.
I've tried multiple solutions, and still no fix.
I have tried ...
-even reformatting my laptop to factory settings
-using registry scans and fixing entries
-ran antivirus scans in safe mode
-re-downloading programs from different sources
-system restoring to previous dates
And a few other attempts to try fix it. But to no avail I am still given the "Corrupt file" or "NSIS error" message.

Anyone have any background information about this? Or any ideas of how to fix such a problem? Thankyou. ;3 Quote from: Fluctuation on June 15, 2010, 01:40:57 AM

See if this helps...Hi,

Try the following steps:

1.Clear your browser's cache.

2.Disable any download accelerators or managers and download the installer again.

3.Rename the installer so it is a simple one-word name with no special characters (without removing the .exe suffix)
Example: install.exe

4.Download the installer from another source approved by the software developer or publisher.
It might be corrupted on the server, or the connection to the server is unreliable from your location.

5.Update your anti-virus software (if INSTALLED) and download the installer again.

6.Disable your anti-virus software and download the installer again.

7.Download the installer using another computer and copy it to the original computer.

8.If you have the nVidia firewall installed, uninstall the program and download the installer again.

9.Scan for, and remove malware and viruses on your system.

10.Scan the hard drive using scandisk, chkdsk, or any other hard drive REPAIR tool. I have tried all this.
But my downloads are still not working.
Installation files are always corrupt when I download them no matter what.
I've turned off all firewalls, securities, antiviruses. I have also ran a few more scans but nothing.

Still need helpp. ><..Is this a dial-up connection ? ?Nope. This is a ADSL broadband connection. But I'm using the laptop at the moment so I'm connecting through wireless router.
It's nothing to do with the internet though. As my computer installs everything fine. Even my sister's own laptop installs everything fine.
But whatever I download on here is corrupt and I can't install anything. >
Check the size of the file before and after you download to confirm the full program has been downloaded.

Try it.Or you can down load the program on your sister computer and try to install on your computer.

Try it.Hadve you tried going into safemode or safemode with internet connection?Have you tried going into safemode or safemode with internet connection? Sorry for my mispelling.
