Solve : Kernel Unable to initialize heap (Error message)? |
|
Answer» HEY everyone, I got a laptop a bit back that I was trying to think of an operating system for it, and now none will install. I've tried the following operating systems: Windows 98, Windows 98se, Windows 2000pro, and Windows Xp Pro Sp2 and None of them worked! (I sort of suspected it with Xp because its not a good computer). I'd LIKE to just install 98se on it but everytime after it says: "Copying files needed for Windows Setup" I get the "Kernel: Unable to initialize heap" error. I'm not sure what the problem is but if anyone can help me so I can finally use the computer I'd appreciate it greatly. The Laptop: Ibm Thinkpad I series 1452 Machine Number: 2611 452 Processor: Pentium II 366mhz (Celeron) Hard Disk: 8063mb Thanks, Mike Something odd is going on with my laptop and I have a feeling its going to be a hardware problem. Everytime I try booting 98se now I get a different error during Scan Disk..I would visit the MANUFACTURER's website & try to find a tool to test the HDD with. You could also test the RAM with Memtest but I think the HDD may have a problem. The odd thing is we just purhcased the Hard Drive from a shop, so If it TURNS out its not WORKING we'll go ahead and return it. I'll go test the hard drive and ram now |
