Solve : keyboard locks up?

Answer»

keyboard locks up and UNABLE to type.  Mouse and cursor work ok.  have erased hard drive and reinstalled windows XP.  Problem was nonexistant but has returned.  Rebooting solves the problem for a while but all of a sudden the keyboard locks up.  Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!Scan for viruses and Trojan Horses.Just for kicks, the next time this happens press the Windows key (between Ctrl and Alt). Strangely, there is a bug which locks up the keyboard when you press the key a certain number of times under certain conditions.

Thank Microsoft computers aren't boring... Have you installed any drivers that have come with your keyboard?

[glb]Flame[/glb]try another keyboard.......is the plug or port damaged/lose...has the wire been stretched....Thanks for all the suggestions.  SITUATION persists and in fact is getting worse.a crafty move would to use the on screen keyboard ...control panel THINK its the disbled icon to activate it...try this also to SEE if the keyboard driver is damage/corupt> type this in the run box sfc /scannowIf it's cordless, try replacing its batteries.Does this occur outside of Windows as well...? If yes, the keyboard may be failing.
