OK, most of us use multiple USB ports -- one for the camera, one for the mouse. That makes this whole problem ridiculously easy to solve. Complications arise when only one USB port is available. The best SOLUTION is to buy a USB hub. Much as I despise using Wikipedia, good information on it can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_hub

A USB hub that allows 4 devices at a time can be had for $20.00 USD. Of course, more is more expensive, less is less so. Yes, it costs, but it alleviates the headache of worrying about PS2 adapters, getting all that crud to work with a new(ish) laptop, and the inherent inefficiency involved with a PS2 connection.

Alternatively, you could find and borrow a computer with multiple USB ports -- and if you have more than one, that solves it ever more easily.

Again, sorry about the confusion.If you choose to get a USB hub, I strongly reccomend that you get one that is externally powered. Avoid future problems with the USB port providing insufficient power. Quote

OK, now in manual that came with my mouse, it says, "PC desktops use green PS2 adapter.  PC notebooks use black USB connector only."  Does that mean there's no way I can use the PS2 with my notebook?

The reason I need to do this is, I just bought a digital camera (over $100) and took a few pics.  To get them onto the computer, I had to remove the handheld mouse from the USB port so I could plug in the camera.  After doing this, the pictures can be viewed by clicking on the Removable Disk icon in My Computere--which I CAN CLICK on using arrows and the enter key--but saved only by **clicking** Edit (at the top of the screen), choosing Select All, and then Save.  I have no way of getting up to Edit without a mouse plugged in.  But I can't plug in the mouse because the camera has to be plugged in.  My brand new camera is useless unless I can turn the keyboard mouse back on.  Thanks much to anyone who tries to help!
