Solve : keyboard shortcut to the command line?

Answer»

Any body knows a keyboard shortcut to OPEN the COMMAND line from the standard Windows XP GUI?

Thanks in advance.there isn't a one STROKE TYPE of shortcut; but you can do it with the keyboard fairly quickly.

Windows key+r
type cmd
enter

Cyberbuzzard - Welcome to the CH forums.

You can create shortcut keys by first creating a desktop shortcut to CMD.exe then R.Click on the shortcut, select Properties and complete the necessary boxes.

My R.click_shortcut/properties/shortcut is attached. If you select the Options tab you can also open Cmd in full screen mode.

Note that the Target shown is incomplete and in full is:
%comspec% /t:1f/e:on/v:on/k cls prompt $e$p$g

You will want to tailor this to suit your needs. Having a shortcut on the desktop means that I very seldom use the hotkeys to Cmd.

Good luck

p.s. for the purists - I make no excuses for using the MS-Dos logo

Edit: To change the Target to include %comspec%

I feel a good burning at the steak stake coming on Dusty trust your instincts...you had steak right the first time...

Medium Rare for me please...with a dusting of that cajun powder...I'd like mine basted in my famously disgusting cheese drink (TM). And also three slices of toast. And would you like fries with that sure. Oh, and could you super size that?
