Solve : Keys?

Hi ppl,

I just formatted my laptop, and from than onwards the keys got a bit mixed up, for example the is instead of the ". Most computers are that way, but I got used to it the right way.

Can somebody tell me if there is any way how I can arrange them please?

Thanks beforehand   Sounds like you have the keyboard set to the WRONG location.
Check the regional and language settings in Control Panel to change this.

I mean that I have met a lot of computers which when you press it displays ", but mine was not that way before so I got used to it the right way, i.e. when you press you get .
There are other examples, such as # gives \, ~ gives | etc...
1) What operating system?

2) What make/model of computer?

3) Go to: Control Panel>Regional and Language Options>Regional Options Tab, what is shown in the first drop down box? What is shown in the bottom drop down box? Are these correct?

4) Go to: Control Panel>Regional and Language Options>Languages Tab, click Details. On the Settings Tab, what is shown in the drop down box? What is shown in the Installed Services Pane? Are these correct?

5) Go to: Control Panel>Regional and Language Options>Advanced Tab, what is shown in the drop down box?  Is this correct?

Please ANSWER the questions.Even if the regional settings Tab is listed correct for your location, try SETTING to keyboard layout to "U.S".Sounds like your FN key is active....

I have a Toshiba laptop RUNNING Windows XP SP 2.

"Most computers" are NOT "that way." Most computers will display the character typed - not some other character. Where are you located and why do you say that most computers display characters that are different from the typed characters?
