Answer» If I shut down my laptop (Windows 7 operating system) and restart, it does so in Kiosk mode. Why is this? What can I do to start normally? Thanks. Here is a reference about Windows 8.1 Kiosk mode. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/6c67d219-dba9-4de8-988f-ae46b19b2ccb/windows-81-kiosk-mode?forum=w8itproinstall This link may have the specific detail you need. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/154780 The above is about Internet Explorer.
Are you using Windows 8.1 and it is in Kiosk Mode? If so, look here: Kiosk Mode in Windows 8.1 via Assigned Access Is that any help? My problem is that I am not familiar with working in kiosk mode. When I FIRST saw it, I thought it was a virus and so scanned and re-scanned the computer. It was only as a result of a techie website (can't REMEMBER whether or not it was this one) that I discovered how to go beyond the Kiosk login to REACH my normal desktop. I have not been ABLE to find out the usefulness or otherwise of Kiosk.
