Answer» I added a wireless card to a WIN2K machine with IE6.0. EVERY time I boot up I have to go to \Internet Properties\Connections\LAN Settings\ and click off the Proxy Server for it to work. I can also REGEDIT in \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ and set the ProxyEnable to 0. Unfortunately when I reboot, it defaults back. Any permanent fix without having to reinstall the OS?Is your computer on network, or it's just one machine? Laptop, desktop? It's a standalone desktop that I added to my wireless network. Like I said it works; I'm just trying not to have to change the setting each time! Perhaps when I loaded the OS (about a year and a half ago), I didn't select the network option. The WinXP machine does not have this problem. Thanks.Download HijackThis: http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis/download Click on Download HijackThis Installer Post HijackTHis log.Nice program, but it didn't fix my problem. I get: R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http://66.122.214.106:1026. I fix it or delete it, but every time I CYCLE power, it come up again. This is a created REGISTRY value. The question is, what is creating it and/or how do I stop it from being created?I didn't ask you to fix anything, and you better don't, because it's very POWERFUL program. I asked you to post HJT log.
