Answer» i am TRYING to set up my laptop thru comcast and i KEEP getting limited or no connectivity message. I was on the phone with comcast and we tried everything and it kept coming up with the 169 IP Address. can anyone help me?? Those are common for LAN setups, and the only way around it is to not use a router. Can you connect if you bypass the router? Perhaps the router is bad. Or possibly the cable you are USING is bad. I am using the cable for my desktop and it is working fine. the DSL is hooked up the modem. I mean the physical cable that you are using to connect it, or are you disconnecting the desktop to connect the laptop?yes i did that.
