Solve : laptop starts bios automaticly?

Answer»

Hi guys my little brother turned ny bios to default atm when i stat computer it goes to vios i cant open windows please help :-(Make sure the Boot order has:

CD or DVD ROM (first)
Hard Drive (second)
Network Boot Device(Third if this is an option )

If the BIOS is password protected then please share make/model of the computer. Some can not be easily reset by CMOS battery!

If the BIOS is always coming up without pressing the hot key for the BIOS then maybe there is a stuck key on the keyboard that is triggering the BIOS to pop up, but strangely not triggering a keyboard failure error of a stuck key. What did your brother do?
You can restore the BIOS to the default values and it should work.
I GOT asus n56vz and i cant change boot orders and there is not any boot order and i couldnt find stuck key in my keynoardMy problem is when i press power button it dont go windows starts bios and i coulsnt find any stuck key in keybpard there is no boot option and at main screen of bios that say im user and it wants password at opejing bios i dont write anything and press enter and i can open that without password but that say im user and i cant change anythingAsk you brother what he did.
Sorry if I sound cynical, but isn't amazing the number of laptop owners who come on here and say "My little brother/sister/kids/cat/dog did something to my laptop and now it wants a password when I start it!"

You need that Master Password according to page A-8 of the user manual or else it will have to go back to factory for service. All google hits on this model show failure to reset the BIOS to default by removing cmos battery.

I'd have your brother cough up the password or have him pay for it to be replaced or serviced! That is assuming that your the rightful owner and am not using this forum to crack into your brothers privacy etc as we have had many people in the past claim that its a problem with their system and its really not their system that they want into but they are looking for a way to hack/crack into it. *This password setting was intentional. The person who set this up ( brother or otherwise ) knew what they were doing when they did it!
Below as copy/pasted from the manual. The hard drive is password protected in the BIOS.

A-8 Notebook PC User ManualHDD PasswordTo set the HDD password:
1. On the Security screen, click Set Master Password, TYPE in a password and press [Enter].
2. Re-type to confirm the password and press [Enter].
3. Click Set User Password and repeat the previous steps to set up the user password.
4. Password is then set.

• The HDD Password can only be altered when you log in with Administrator PRIVILEGE.
• You have to set Master Password before setting the User Password. You will be asked to enter user password first (if there is one), then HDD user password when you power on the Notebook PC and cannot enter the operating system if you fail to enter the correct passwordsOK problem fixed ty everyoneHow...? ?...pray tell.I am guessing this statement was the cure!

I DOUBT he was even in the BIOS...many people refer to the logon screen as that which couldn't be farther from the truth...
