Solve : Laptop will not open windows?

1.	Solve : Laptop will not open windows?
Answer» Hi, my LAPTOP compaq nc4000 was working fine this morning. when i turn it on now it goes to windows, briefly shows the desktop but before i can go anywhere on the desktop it CLOSES and says it is shutting down to STOP DAMAGE to windows. can anyone advise how to sort this out?What information should I add when submitting a question?
