Or right-click the layers panel.

Right-click on layers and open Blending OPTIONS for blending effects. You can also change those in the layer panel using the Opacity & Fill percentage items with the layer selected. Select a set of layers(shift-click or control-click) and you can merge them by right-clicking and selecting Merge layers, or using the Layer->Merge menu. Many thks, BC. Will try your method tomorrow as it is a little late tonight for me to do so. I shall soon have to turn in for the night. I will let you know whether I succeed in using your method or not. Thank you again.Hello, BC, it's me again after trying to practice the tip you gave me couple of days ago about layers in photoshop CS5.

Sorry to say that I have not gone far with your method as I COULD not locate the tab (or button, whatever it's called; excuse my ignorance !) for BLENDING OPTIONS.

If it is not too much of a bother, will you KINDLY elaborate?

Grateful for your help. And please let me repeat that at age 73 (RETIRED civil servant) I am often at a loss with computer navigation, even though I have taken quite a few courses in photoshop..

Bless you !QUOTE from: Guzeppi on November 19, 2011, 07:54:59 AM

When you right-click on a layer in the layers panel, one of the options in the pop-up menu is "Blending Options...".
