Answer» reinstalled win xp pro sp 2 on lenovo 3000 n 100 laptop. Downloaded all drivers from official website. Attempted to update components in Device manager....NOthing!! HelpDon't know what you're trying to SAY. Install the drivers directly, not VIA device manager.I installed the drivers directly. The computer will say 'found new hardware.' But, the drivers won't update. Automatically or manually. Why don't you please start at the beginning and explain everything.wiped the computer. INstalled XP Pro sp2 Went to the Lenovo website to download the drivers for this particular model. Installed the chipset first. Then all other drivers. The ethernet works. No wireless. No sound through the lap speakers. No bluetooth. Went to device manager to update drivers that had an EXCLAMATION by them. Went the the designated folders where the drivers reside. The computer still does not recognize them.
P.S. would the fact that the model was maufactured overseas matter? As a rule, drivers should be installed by double-clicking on the setup.exe file. The audio driver should have a setup.exe, DITTO the video driver, etc. You should not be in device manager. And no, doesn't matter where the computer was made. Thanks so much for putting it poliltey how my simple behind forgot the easiest step (download & install) Of course...it worked. Thanks again. I smacked myself in the back of the head for us both!No problem. Thanks for posting back and GLAD you're all set now.
