Solve : Loading up XP??

Answer»

Righto..
Well..I have no idea what has happened to my laptop, it was working fine yesterday, then it started to run really SLOWLY, then the menubar thingy at the bottom of the page (blue bar with GREEN start button) dissappeared and I couldnt move to pages (although I could Alt-Tab to move through the pages.)
I left the laptop for a while to see if it would fix itself, it didnt, so I had to manually shutdown the laptop.
When I tried to turn the laptop back on again, it starts to load fine, having the black screen with the Windows XP logo and the loading bar, then it loads to a blue screen that also has the Windows XP logo and wont load any further.

I tried to get the laptop to run through safe mode, but it still ends up stuck at the same point. It is really annoying.

Is there anything I can do to resolve this problem?
Any help would be great thankyou!!"windows won't start even in Safe Mode or has other serious PROBLEMS that can't be fixed with system restore"

Hi, when you hit F8 and you see the computer Startup option....
Hit the "Last Know good configuration"

if that dosn't work... TRy Using Safe Mode With Command Prompt to access System Restore:

once login Type: %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe in the blank, and then press enter key.

after several seconds, the system restore windows appears. Click the Restore my computer to an earlier time button.
In the calendar ... click a day when your Computer was working properly, and then click the next button.

To Confirm your choice, click Next.
The system Restore process begins, Moments latter, your computer automatically restarts itself. When it boots up, Follow the on-screen instructions.

if everything works good, check for a virus even if you think you may not even have one!

get back and Let me know how things worked out.

goodluck! spider have you install anything before it happen?i suggest format the laptop.
kuszmania9999, before you give anyone instruction... I would do some research before

giving that Option! Only because They can lose Important Information that maybe Value to them.

Yes.. this maybe the case but, we don't know that yet and they may need there data.

The trouble SHOOTING I'm giving is correct and I would copy this info for safe keeping..... Just in case someone else is having the same issue in the future.... it could be you or me.

formatting does fix problems as long as hard drive is not broken and that the hard drive can recognize windows.

but you can't always revert to formatting unless you really do have no other option.

So yeah, try last good known configuration, then if no good, reboot to safe mode with command prompt and use the system restore's command prompt option to restore computer, provided there is a restore point you can use.
