Solve : Local Area Network Cable unplugged comes and goes - prevents wirlesss connection?

Answer»

I reinstalled Win2000Pro after virus attack, now I cannot atain the internet with the RALink2500 pcmia card, and there is no other internet connection available. (Dell Inspiron 7500 laptop)

I install the disk from RALink and the consol comes up and FINDS my wireless modem (Belkin Wireless G Router) and captures with 100% signal. When I click on the IE icon to go out, the Local Area Network Connection icon appears with a red X on it, and the wireless KICKS out. Local Area Cable unplugged is the pop-up for the icon. In a moment, it dissapears and wireless is back up, but as soon as IE is CLICKED, boom - lost again.

Original setup worked fine, but GOT a virus that destroyed all .exe files for Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer. Tryed to clean it off, but had to reformat and reinstall OS.

Any ideas? need more information??
