My Outlook 2007 keeps saying "personal folder not closed properly".  It will not open at all.  I have attempted to use SCANPST.exe, but I do not know which file to SEARCH.  I have tried to follow instructions from several sites, but none of the file names can be used.  It has now somehow locked me out of my direct comcast.net email as well.  I have been WORKING on this for 3 days!!  Please help!!Good evening TraceLogan and welcome to CH

This sounds like the PST's are to large and maybe corrupt if you are locked out of the account.

#1... I would contact comcast and ask them to unlock the account?
#2... Dis able add-on's in outlook
#3... If outlook is not opened / accessed & closed normally you will GET that error.
#4... Verify email account settings. I don't know if you are set for pop, imap etc.
#5... Archive outlook and compact the pst's
#6... Open the mail icon and make your edit's to the account. This can be found most of the time in the control panel.

What OS are you running and what SP?, what SP is on office?
