Answer» Hello there
When i turn the computer on and everything has loaded (Etc) the screen goe's blank right away, until you click any key, then you SEE the log on screen, where you click for your USER account.
Where as before when i had another user on the computer (a while ago now)the log on screen was visable Does it say anything on the black screen?
We need more INFORMATION, Please look here.yes sorry about lack of information
Its windows xp sp2, version 5.1 521 ram 1.30 gigahertz AMD Althlon custom built.
not sure about any make no visable sighs on the tower.
No problems with any other programs.
I am normally the sole user , so i just turn the computer on and away i go
the other day i added a new user ,so when where both logged off and the computer is shut down, then restarted it will load as normal but the log on screen is not visable the screen will go black , no error messages or anything like that, you just press any key on the keyboard then the log on screen appears, with the TWO user accounts
It was just puzzleing me as i,ve had other user,s before and the log on screen stayed visable,
Quote will load as normal but the log on screen is not visable
Do you mean the screen where you can choose the two users doesn't come up unless you press any key?

Yep thats it.
Not sure if its anything to do with this new account i,ve added, one possable answer could be, i installed two additional toolbars.
just going to have a look in "servives" and "startup"Hello i managed to sort it out. Though i don,t know how this all works , but i disabled "SearchProtection" from loading on startup, which has something to do with yahoo. As it was up to me weather i had it loading at startup i disable it then restared the computer, and the log on screen is now visableSo problem solved?
