Answer» Sorry Guys, new to the site and forums in general.
I hope you can help, Just to give you the back ground, I have 20 MS XP Pro networked PCs with a multi-user base all with local profiles with two networked shared Printers \\itroom14\colour and \\itroom18\HPLaser.
I would like all users of only these 20 PC’s that have been given the computer name as ITRoomn where ‘n’ is the INCREMENTAL number (1 to 20) to connect to these shared devices.
It is possible to connect to these printers as administrator but they do not appear in the printers folder for other users.
The issue is that it needs to be automated on LOGIN as there is approximately a user base across the 20 pc’s in excess of 150 users. I gather there is a registry hack AVAILABLE, but I have been unsuccessful in LOCATING it. Does any one know of a work around as I am new to batch file CREATION and Shell scripts.
Also is there a good way of reducing the amount of profiles stored on the pc as any work/files that need to be saved are normally stored on the server. The effect of these multiple profiles is that is slows the pcs down considerably at login. :-?
