Solve : loss of drivers?

Answer»

My grandson borrowed my computer (acer aspire 5630) and now my wireless DRIVER has dissapeared.
I have looked at website that say you can download drivers for free but they all want money.
As I am on my pension I cannot afford to start paying for things. What can I do.Please don't pay for drivers. They are developed by the manufacturer and are meant to be free.

Here are the drivers for your laptop. Thanks for that help He's made a RIGHT mess. Lost the e-recovery. I think I will have to take it into a shop and get them to bring it back upto date. He's lost Vista and put XP on it.If you have the original discs that shipped with the computer you don't have to bring it to a shop... we can help you. As long as its not a hardware problem it definitely can be solved by yourself.

I looked around on Google and found out that you can install eManager in Windows and inside there there will be a "Recovery" option.

He's lost Vista and put xp on it.
I can see why he would do that-Vista is poorly optimized for older PCs such as yours, and TENDS to be a RAM hog at times.

What I would do: Backup all of your data onto an external hard drive, get the recovery discs for your computer, and do a complete format of the hard drive and reinstall the Operating System, be it Vista or XP. If it is Vista, follow this guide to speed it up by disabling unnecessary features: www.tweakguides.com/VA_5.html After that, go to the Acer website above and download all the drivers for your PC. Motherboard/Chipset drivers go FIRST.
