Wondering if anyone knows how to access the files that were kept on my desktop -baby pics :-( . they were hidden after my computer froze from a malicious program that was run on it. I was able to reinstall win 98 SE, but cannot seem to be able to access the pictures.
Any HELP would be appreciated.
thanksIf you did a re-install any data that was not backed up is probably GONE...if you formatted it when you reinstalled it their gone , but if you dident.. even if they got deleted somehow you can get them back , FIRST with the new copy of windows, you have a different desktop.. so search for your old one in your old windows folder.. if you installed it right over top, you have to use an undelete program..
i use this one myself http://www.download.com/Undelete-Plus/3000-2084_4-10656411.html?tag=lst-0-1Most LIKELY overwritten & gone but try PC Inspector which helped me recover some pictures.. Ofcourse, I immediatly NOTICED they were gone and didn't attempt to write anything else to the HDD....
