Answer» I'm running windows XP and somehow (my mistake) lost all my restore points. Is there any way to get them back? I have a problem that was fixed by going back a week to a restore point. Now all are gone & my problem is back. Alot of the time, when your hard drive is running out of disk space, System Restore will not only stop monitoring to CREATE restore points, but delete them to save disk space.
You can also check log files to see what event errors occurred. Try this:
1. GO to Start > Control Panel > Computer Management > Event Viewer > System. 2. Click on the Source tab to sort by its name. 3. Go to View > Filter and next to Event source, select srservice, and press Ok.
Were you able to find System Restore in here ok? If so, what errors do the event logs in the description report?

way2goofy ....... If you somehow turned off your system restore , than unfortunately theres no hope. When you tried to USE system restore, was it turned off ?
dl65 Like dl65 says, if you turned off System Restore, then those files are gone. What kind of problem are you having? Perhaps we can assist you without NEEDING the aid of System Restore.
