I have no idea how it happened, but my computer LOST the D drive and my external CD burner. When I go to My computer they are not there, and my CD burning software tells me that they are not installed. I need help!!!! Thanks.I assume d: is a cd drive? START - RUN - REGEDIT

Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class

then to: Key: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Delete All Value Data from UpperFilters and LowerFilters

Do not delete the Key or String Values, only the data values

Exit regedit & reboot.
I got there, but can't figure out what to delete. What is "value data" and "upper and lower filters"? Sorry, but I am a total moron.When you are at that key go to the right-hand pane and double-click on UpperFilters and delete the data. Do the same for LowerFilters. Exit regedit and reboot.

BEFORE you do any of that you might want to download ERUNT and make a backup of your registry.
