Answer» Choose your favorite OS in the list. Love the use of "Type" to refer to different OS's. All major consumer Operating Systems are Protected-Mode, multi-user Operating Systems. They aren't different types.Older REFERENCES will identify Windows 2000 as 5 types of Operating systems So it is one product that meets the criteria of five types of things that nit does. All versions of Windows NT are. All Linux Distros are. All BSD variants are. The only other types would be embedded, Real Time, or Real Mode Operating Systems; such as iOS, EROS, and MS-DOS respectively.I DLoaded and installed LovingOS in a VM...gotta say i'm Loving it...Quote from: patio on November 29, 2011, 09:49:01 AM I DLoaded and installed LovingOS in a VM...gotta say i'm Loving it... I think I accidentally got the ISO for Mother Loving OS, which is rather unstable and crashes a lot. It's sort of like trying to run and use Unity on Ubuntu, except there isn't a cloud of frothing advocates telling me that I'm just using it wrong and don't understand the paradigm.Quote from: patio on November 29, 2011, 09:49:01 AM I DLoaded and installed LovingOS in a VM...gotta say i'm Loving it...Quote Lovingos - Wikipedia, la enciclopedia libreQuote Lovingos - Wikipedia, la enciclopedia libre How did i know this would happen ? ? Uncanny ...i say.Quote from: Geek-9pm on November 28, 2011, 11:19:18 PM How do I vote for CP/M ?You can now vote for it. Quote I DLoaded and installed LovingOS in a VM...gotta say i'm Loving it...Didn't know it was an OS, but then. I've chose it because of the poll's subject. "Windows-type OSes (Win32)" ? You know eventually 64Bit will be the minimum standard. The only reason why it isn't yet (years after prediction that it would be) Is because of hardware drivers and some games. Obviously all Windows users would prefer the better 64Bit if all worked without hitch. Since you don't have that option to choose from above, I'll have to say 'else'.Quote from: kimsland on November 29, 2011, 05:27:31 PM "Windows-type OSes (Win32)" ?Point well made. There are good reasons to favor the 64 bit systems from now on. All the new software is ingoing to be better non 64 bit. The AMD and Intel extensions to the INSTRUCTION set are more that just big memory space. It makes a difference in any graphic intenser task.I could have swore I voted in this poll. What happened to my vote for Don't like OSes? |
