Well, I have another PROBLEM...on another machine. This time HP, 760 M RAM, running XP w/SP2.

Seems EVERY time I need to do a "save" or "save as" from the fly down "file" menu, my machine locks up....tight. Nothing works. No C/A/Del...... nothing. Only option is to unplug. If I manage a first "save", I can CLICK the save icon in the toolbar as many times as I want, but when using the fly down menu, as soon as I type no more than 3 characters in the title box........ hard freeze.

The programs I'm working with are ArtShade Pro and ArtCam Pro. ArtCam is a CNC 3D image buildiing/rendering program, the ArtShade is a relief viewing program that allows me to turn a rendered relief file into a universally viewable/shareable .jpg, .bmp, etc image file. I also work with Corel, but with no problems.

I don't use much wordprocessing, or data BASE software. I can surf the net all day, work with email, and even play a while in Second Life with no major problems. Occasionally I have a short stumble in SL where I must wait till things settle, but no major problem.

I have been using the same machine and configuration for a couple years. This freezing THING is a recent problem.

I have reloaded both CNC applications, but the problem still persists. I have both Spybot and SuperAntispyware loaded and have run each a number of times. Computer keeps coming up clean of anything major other than cookies.

I'm curious....is this something specific the software, or is the "save" issue an OS issue?Did you try to contact CNC, or use their forums?
