Answer» Hello, I've got a strange problem with WMP 9. The other day, I downloaded some AVI files (USFL clips from thisistheusfl.com). They wouldn't play, so I downloaded some codec pack. After RESTARTING my computer, the AVI files would play, but now some of my MPEG files play without sound. I UNINSTALLED the codec pack, but the files still play with no audio. Microsoft says to DOWNLOAD WMP 11, but I'm reluctant to download a NEW version when the old one has worked fine until now. I'm running XP. Any ideas? Thanks.Free-codecs.com seems to check out with SiteAdvisor, so if that's where you got it from, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Did you download the K-Lite Codec Pack? If not, give it a try and see if it helps. If you're still having trouble, you just might have to update your PLAYER.
