Solve : Media Player and mp3 management?

Answer»

I recently bought an mp3 player - Samsung YP-U2 512mb - and a good little device it is.

I've used WINDOWS Media Player to transfer a couple of spoken word cds to the mp3, but the individual files are in a jumbled, random ORDER on the device.  I presume that this was some mistake of mine in the  transfer procedure, and I decided to delete the lot and start over.  Now on the mp3 model that I've got you can only delete single files (I think) and with thirty or forty items it is a laborious job.

Can I use Media Player to make mass deletions on my mp3. and leave my pc library intact?  I can find no advice on this in Media Player help, or in the Samsung installation disk.

Advice on this, and on transferring stuff in the correct order, will be much appreciated.

I have Windows XP SP2 and Media Player 11

Thanks.Did this device come with software to use it in Windows ? ?

If the device shows up in Windows EXPLORER you should be able to copy, move and delete files at will...while you're in there make a few sub-folders to help keep THINGS organised

patio.  8-)Thanks for reply Patio.

I took a closer look at the Samsung PROGRAM and find that it does link with Media Player and also has the easy deleting option that I wanted, so I should be ok.  I had thought that the Samsung Media Studio, as it's called, just duplicated Media Player.  Now I just need to figure out how to transfer stuff in the right order.

Thanks again. You're more than Welcome...stop by anytime.
