Solve : Memory Module??

Answer»

Since you will need to OPEN the case anyway in ORDER to test the modules, I would just go ahead and open it.

Remember to turn off the COMPUTER first and take anti-static precautions before touching any components. You can discharge yourself by touching a piece of grounded metal.Okay.

Please give me a little time for this. I will post as soon as I get things put together again. You just take all the time you need. We will still be here when you're done.Hello, I'm back

Here are my results:

I have 2 memory modules.

I have tested them both, one at a time-

First RAM removed from computer-
Total memory- 128mb
Memory bank 0- not installed (error message still appears when booting up)
Memory bank 1- 128mb
DRAM SPD status- invalid

Second RAM removed from computer-
Total memory- 32mb
Memory bank 0- 32mb
Memory bank 1- Not installed
DRAM SPD status- valid
No error message when booting up

Switching Memory modules places didn't help.
Right now, both modules are inside the computer. I tried to leave the 32mb RAM by itself, but my computer became really, really slow loading my desktop.

What do I do now? Well now you know it is the 128 mb module that's to blame.
If you want to get rid of the error message I think you have to replace it.Hello Deerpark,

I kind of figured that out after everything was said and done. I will replace it as soon as I gain the funds. Thank you, Deerpark and patios for all you help and SUPPORT. I NEVER would have figured this out, if it was not for you guys and this website. Thank you so much.
