Solve : Microsoft Explorer disappeared, no icons or start menu? |
|
Answer» Hi. I have a Windows XP computer, that's about all I can tell you about it. I'm not very computer savvy. Yesterday when I signed onto my computer, all of my icons and my start menu were missing. No, it's not on auto-hide. I can use task manager to open programs still, and everything is working FINE other than the fact all I can see on my desktop is my background when no programs are going. Yesterday I searched a little online about this problem, and figured out what it is. Something completely wiped my explorer.exe from my computer. It's no longer RUNNING under processes, and when I try to use run to open it, it says it doesn't exist. Anyway I can fix this without a recovery disk? I moved a few weeks ago and LOST a big box of my stuff, which it was in.See if you can borrow an XP CD...the version and installed Service Packs need to match...in other words if you have XPPro with SP2 installed that is the CD you need. |
