Was E: his optical drive? Please explain in detail so we don't have to guess what you're talking about. Even better, have your friend post here.I have made my CD/DVD Drive not show up before. It was because I was using daemon tools and it somehow got rid of the data to detect it. My CD drive did even run. (as if it were broke) But i did a simple system restore and it fixed it. Im not sure why it happend. I continue to run daemon tools and everything work fine. But how in the heck does this happen? Allan do you know?now here is the problem i can't run a system restore because it is more than a year since it happened and i don't really think i can't go back that far Do you have the computer there with you? It's gonna be really difficult to try to trouble this one if he has to tell you, then you tell us, then we tell you, then you tell him. See what I'm saying?i don't have it right now but i will be back in atleast 30 minutes or less i'll post a message when i returni am back i got the computer up and runningOkay. First let's make absolutely sure that there isn't a system restore point. Click start then all programs then accesories then system tools then system restore. Choose restore my computer to an earlier date and see if there are any recent system restore points. okay there is some system restore pointsWell, if there is a recent one (less than a month old or so) try a restore. this cd/dvd missing thing happened more than six months ago i really don't think a system restore will be ABLE to help You say he did a disk cleanup. Do you happen to know what program he used or what he did? Does the drive open and close? Have you checked BIOS to make sure that the drive shows up there? Can you hook that computer up to the INTERNET?He said he used the disk clean that came with the computer he checked all the boxes and clicked clean up, yes it does open and close and EVE the lights go on LIKE if it was trying to read it, i still need to check the bios, and i don't think i can hook it up to the internet right now |
