Answer» Patience please, I'm new at forums. I am running Windows 98 on an older machine. After uninstalling a program I cannot reboot. I have a message, "Error loading Explorer.exe. You must reinstall Windows". I am missing, (at least) a file called msvcrt.dll. I do not have a Windows CD to reinstall. I do not have any backup disks. (I know but I'm trying to resurrect this for someone else.) I do have a msvcrt.dll file on a floppy from another computer. How can I get it where its supposed to be? Will that HELP? I GOT it fixed. FYI, Behind the "must reinstall,etc."error message was another error window saying COULD not find missing file msvcrt.dll. I copied that file from another computer (Win Me) and then opened the sick machine in Safe Mode and used MSDOS command prompt only to get to A: drive. Then I copied the file to C:\windows\system and REBOOTED. The programed I had removed was a preloaded communications program. Now making backup DISK!Nice job
