Answer» I've got this issue that i can't solve. At first, i couldn't boot my PC, as it said that the SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SOFTWARE file is EITHER MISSING or corrupt. I installed another windows XP on my second drive, but i can't access my files since they're LOCKED, so i can't copy them to a safe place. Since I don't want to lose my files, i have to repair my MAIN windows. I've tried using the recovery console, but now i get an error: STOP: C0000218 {REGISTRY File Failure} The registry cannot load the hive (file): \SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE or its log or alternate. It is corrupt, absent, or not writeable. I copied the SOFTWARE file from the CD (with the repair console), and now i get this bluescreen. any help?
