Hi everyone,
I can't get sound with tutorials ect.
 It cuts off and some times it works.
I've checked my band speed =23 k
My isp adv 53kps. I've got media 10 and quicktime
and no known viruses or malware.I've set my settings
while on the sites to low or high,makes no difference.
I've tried firefox browser and no difference.Sure would like
to clear this up. I've been fighing this for a long time.
Help would sure be appreciated.

1. Click Start and Run
2. In the Run dialog box, type DXDIAG and click OK.
3. Click the Sound tab and click the button to run the sound tests.

Thanks for the diagnostic test, that went great.
Everything was good.I'm really lost here. I'm playing the radio
now to on the internet and it goes off and on . It gets to be bad it doing that.I think I've tried about 20 different things to correct this.
I hope tere's some more ideas out there.

It may have to do with the bandwidth of your connection to the Internet.  Are you using dial-up, cable or DSL?  What you are describing sounds like some of the problems I used to experience when I used a dial-up connection, which is way to slow to handle even streaming audio.

Also, there is a setting in Windows Media player to send information to a Web site to to help with the quality of your signal.  Check to see that you have this option enabled.

To verify that your media player is not to blame, try a different player.  For EXAMPLE, if you are using Windows Media Player, see if you get the same problem when you use QuickTime or Real Player.  Many sites give you the option to choose all THREE, which is a good way to troubleshoot, as it rules out the signal quality of the streaming audio as the cause.  One such site is here:

Try listening to the live broadcast using all three programs to see if one experiences the problems while the others do not.  If this is the case, reinstalling the program that is having the problem might be the solution.

 I went to that kwve.org and clicked on quicktime
and also media,I didn't know what to do with it.
Then I clicked bluevoda to listen to the tutorial.
It starts and goes a little while ,cuts off.I down loaded
the kwve on desktop but I don't have winzip. Would that make any difference?I'm still lost.

jacobiYep, definitely a bandwidth problem.  Make sure your computer is doing as little as possible whilst you're trying to play the audio.  But frankly, your experience over dialup is bound to be this unsatisfactory, and if you're trying to view video/animations plus live audio, forget it.  You need broadband or cable.  Sorry.Rob,

the desktop to.  jacobiI'm sorry, but that is not a guaranteed solution.  The speed of your internet connection is THE determining factor here.  This depends not only on programs currently running on your computer, but also on the quality of your telephone line.

You can't fit a camel through the eye of a needle - so it is with your internet connection.  If you want to get more through at once, you need a faster connect, i.e. broadband/cable.  Sorry!<------ Agrees with Rob  8-)
