Solve : MISSING WINDOWS TEXT? |

Answer» My XP laptop is 14 months old, it has suddenly slowed to almost a standstill. NORTON & Ad Aware scans negative, plenty of disk space. Went to try system restore but when i clicked on "Start" there wasn't the usual "Programs" entry in the menu, some other items had an icon but no text LABEL. Tried to find system restore by using "Search", but the "Search" box appeared without most of the normal text. Found system restore by other means but again most text MISSING INCLUDING all numbers from the restore calendar. It seems to be only Windows dialogue boxes affected. The Internet shows OK, but is very slow. I would like to find the problem before i wipe the disk. |
