My monitor started FLICKERING and then went black. I can get an image for about a second when I first turn it on. I have already bought a new monitor but I was wondering if this one can be fixed. It is not even two YEARS old. I did have a power surge recently but it worked fine after that and I had the computer on a surge protecter. If it is not worth keeping, I will discard it. If it's just a capacitor, they can be replaced cheaply and by most electronics REPAIR places.

Most computer shops ship them off to somewhere that specialize in repairing monitors, and it's quite costly.Thanks for the INFO. That's what I THOUGHT.
