Solve : Monitor went out?

Answer»

My monitor started FLICKERING and then went black. I can get an image for about a second when I first turn it on. I have already bought a new monitor but I was wondering if this one can be fixed. It is not even two YEARS old. I did have a power surge recently but it worked fine after that and I had the computer on a surge protecter. If it is not worth keeping, I will discard it. Anyone know?Does the new monitor work with the computer? (just discounting the possibility that the computer is damaged, not the monitor)Yes. Both are HP. The one that doesn't work is HPpavillionf1503Generally speaking it usually isn't worth the cost to have monitors repaired...however being that it's so new i'd certainly drop it off at a shop for an estimate.Depends on how badly you want the monitor and what's really wrong with it. If it's just a capacitor, they can be replaced cheaply and by most electronics REPAIR places.

Most computer shops ship them off to somewhere that specialize in repairing monitors, and it's quite costly. Thanks for the INFO. That's what I THOUGHT.
