I had my computer repaired in January. Tech said power SUPPLY went and fried motherboard. He put in new motherboard and now I have no sound, it shows no audio device and can not download updates also. I have Windows XP, Home Edition. My computer is an eMachine. It is an AMD Sempron Processor 3000+.

Please can SOMEONE instruct me on how to fix these problems? I do not know much at all about my computer but I believe I can fix it with someone help.

No, I don't. I have been trying for days to fix the problems and just found out that I can't USE my restore cds nowDid some more checking, there is no sound card. It says to get sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer. How do I find this?DLoad, install and run Everest Home...this will tell you what's in that machine.
