Solve : moving pic from my pictures to a memory stick?

Answer»

When trying to move a photo from my pictures to my memory stick I get the option "send to" when I click on the photo. One of the places I am prompted to send the pic is to my memory stick. So far so good. The problem is I  cannot send to pic to the folder I created to recieve it. The pic just ends up floating in the memory stick unattached to any folder. Can anyone help?

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.... What I finally did was click on a pic in My Pictures and copy it (once I knew this was working I could SIMPLY move them). Then I went to My Computer and opened my memory stick, highlighting the appropriate folder. I put one pic in with control V and thereafter opened the folder and put all subsequent pics in with the enter key. Windows made the job easy by providing me with on screen help; a box that allowed me to simply use the enter key. If this explanation is confusing you can give it a try to see what I mean. When I was done I returned to My Pictures to delete what now resided in my memory stick.

Thanks again to everyone.I like to drag and drop files into those drives. Have you tried that?Even better, drag and drop with the right mouse button and select copy here. I agree with the above two posts. However, if you want the folder to appear in your "send to" context menu, copy the folder to: \Documents & Settings\username\SendtoActually if the folder exists on the stick you should be able to clik on the stik initially and then see the existing folders...then clik on the desired folder.Have a nice day.Sigh....Welcome to the board tautog.

Just wandering why you replied with your thanks, and the solution you found, by editing your original post 19 hours - and 6 replies later instead of clicking the "Reply" button at the bottom of this thread and posting it in chronological order?  I'm just asking because I didn't know whether or not you are familiar with the location of that Reply button.

Also, thanks Allan for your reply:

This worked fine for me. I learn something new every day around here.
