Answer» Hey All......Anyone else out there having problems w/ mpeg files only showing up as an icon that SAYES mpeg, even in thumbnail view?Have you right clicked any of these files and checked their properties ? ? You MIGHT be saving them wrong to your machine. More info on your OS etc. where they are from and how you are saving them will be helpful.MPEG video clips come from a sony vid. camera. OS is XP pro /sp2. Thaught maybe it was a wmp11 problem, but rolling back to wmp9 / 10 didnt help. Also tryd installing winamp.....no go. :-? Again how are you saving them...to the desktop...a target folder ? ?Video clips are unloaded from camera using Sony software that came w/camera. It allows you to save them to a target folder of your choosing. I have multiple usb hard drives that I USE to store them in. The problem SEEMS to be everywhere, internal and external drives. Then i would suspect the Sony software as the culprit...
What do the file properties of the mpegs show ? ?
Have you TRIED to just copy them using Windows Explorer ? ?
perplexed. The type of file is MPEG movie clip/opens with wmp............camera, when plugged in to usb doesnt show up in my computer or in device manager. It seems I have to use sony picture package software Not My Computer , Windows Explorer...Start/Run explorer.
Have you tried to set it up using the Camera and Scanner Wizard in Control Panel ? ?
