Answer» Please Help How do you import a file from Windows Task launcher WORD processor program into Yahoo E-Mail....This wasn't exactly worded properly... What Word app..why from task launcher...why Yahoo ? ?I am a relatively new computer user---I only use Yahoo E-Mail---The only word processor program I use is the one that was installed on my computer when I got it--Microsoft's Task Launcher word processor program---I wanted to import a document I created into my Yahoo E-mail. Note I tried to use the E-Mail in the word processor program but it requested info I COULD not provide. I was able to import the file into Yahoo E-Mail but I could not open it up Any help would be appreciated.Ok, I see what you're talking about. You're USING the Microsoft Works Task Launcher to access the Works Word Processor.
It might be that you are saving the file as the wrong file type. When you're in Yahoo Mail, and you try to import a file, there should be a list of acceptable file TYPES that yahoo will allow for import. Go into Yahoo Mail and see if this list has a file type that you can save the file as in Works Word Processor.
Also, if Works Word Processor won't allow you to save the file as the file type you need, then try downloading OpenOffice.org. I believe I had this problem before and was able to overcome it by using OpenOffice.org.
Here is the link... www.openoffice.org
Just click on, "I want to download".It does sound like you are using MS Works word processor. By default it saves files as .wps documents. When you go to save a file you can change it to a .DOC file which is the most common word processor format and shouldn't be a problem with Yahoo.
Also, unless the person your sending the file to has Works, they won't be able to open the file.
