The last time this happened, I un-installed and re-installed which was fine for about 2 weeks. Today it suddenly reverted back to sucking up CPU cycles. WinXP - Pro SP2 Dell P3 1GHz 512MB I have MSAS installed on many machines, but this is the only one acting up. Any ideas?Could it be updating itself?Thanks, Fed. What's REALLY weird is that it doesn't seem to interfere with anything (there is no network or disk activity) and actually goes down when other jobs startup but as soon as the machine is idle, up it goes.Have you uninstalled, and reinstalled the updated version? There have been some issues recognized with the initial release.Could it be actually INSTALLING a downloaded update? I removed it from my computer because I found it too SLOW & too user-unfriendly. I decided to download a new version and monitor it. I'll give it a couple of weeks. I couldn't find any issues on this on the net but you never know. As for the payola, even though it's one of the better products out there, if Microsoft ever starts charging for it I'll bail. Paying protection money to a company to protect yourself from their OS flaws is too surreal for me. Wait until you see XP SE (Sucker Edition) that just sucks the money right out of your bank account and burns it.
