Answer» I'm LOOKING for a explanation or solution as to why gcasServ.exe (a MSAS component) would suddenly start running at 97-100% CPU. The last time this happened, I un-installed and re-installed which was fine for about 2 weeks. Today it suddenly reverted back to sucking up CPU cycles. Its checking your bank and credit card statements so MS KNOWS how much to charge when payola kicks in. Who do you want to pay today? Thanks everyone. I decided to download a new version and monitor it. I'll give it a couple of weeks. I couldn't find any issues on this on the net but you never know. As for the payola, even though it's one of the better products out there, if Microsoft ever starts charging for it I'll bail. Paying protection money to a company to protect yourself from their OS flaws is too surreal for me. Wait until you see XP SE (Sucker Edition) that just sucks the money right out of your bank account and burns it. |
