Answer» I am aware of MSINFO32, but I'm wondering if there is a MS DOS command similar to ipconfig in order to get system specifications?
I would LIKE for the system specifications to be displayed in the MS DOS prompt.
I would like to see at least: CPU RAM BUS speed
Thanks for any insights. msd ? ?Is something that must be installed or something that is present by default on Windows XP and Windows Vista?
Thanks again for all your help.
Jason msdiagnostics as it's commonly known... XP does not contain DOS per se so i don't know if it's still included. It was included in DOS though.
What you are working in is known as the command prompt function...not DOS.
P.S. I just ran it in Vista...no dice. Sorry.Whoops. I guess I did not appreciate the difference.
I guess I should have asked the following:
I am aware of MSINFO32, but I'm wondering if there is a command I can run from the XP and Vista "command line" similar to ipconfig in order to get system specifications?
I would like for the system specifications to be displayed in the "command prompt" window.
I would like to see at least: CPU RAM BUS speed
Also, I would like to be able to run the command without installing anything.
Thanks for any insights. Why do you need it done this way when there are so many good utilities out there that will give you more info than you need to know ? ? Just curious...Code: [Select] C:\>systeminfo
