Solve : MS Internet Explorer 8, Content Password? |

Answer» Ok! I messed up, I admit my epic fail. but can somebody please explain to me how to get the stupid content filter DISABLED after I set it too high and then "Forgot, yes I said forgot" the stupid password. I have tried opening it in safe mode, I have uninstalled it, then downloaded and installed a new version. Yet the insipid thing CONTINUES to hold guard over my ability to download mods for several of my games, or download updates direct from MS. because they only work with IE, everything else I do is with Firefox browser. it works fine. Is there NO way to change the stupid password, I am the Administrator, and I want to change the password, or remove it or something. I should be able to, It's my computer, it should do as I say. Boot into safemode and make all neccessary changes from there... How did you forget a password ? ?I can't remember....Classic....in the vault. To: patio, I booted up in safe mode, then logged in as Administrator, WENT to control Panel, Internet Explorer. Hit the content tab, and tried to change the settings. It still would not let me enter without the CONFOUNDED PASSWORD. So, Whats next? Is there some STEP I missed, I really am not to proficient with the computer as you can see. This thing is driving me up the WALL. now today I decided to update my profile on this web site, well they wanted my ICQ number. I followed the instructions on how to get one, dotted all the I's and crossed all the T's. However when all is said an done ICQ uses the IE to conduct it's business. so I get an error MSG saying This page has no rating. Of course it won't function further without the BANE OF MY EXISTENCE #%[email protected]&^%$&# PASSWORD. to those who were wondering!! How Does one Forget a Password? He starts by getting old, then follows up with a stroke, that relieves him of the majority of his memories from the past 20 years or so. At least that's how I did it.Well i apologise if i sounded a bit harsh on forgetting a password....i have no way of knowing your personal circumstances were involved...and i'm sorry for those as well... Don't Forget it this time ALL IS WELL WITH THE WORLD AGAIN, THANK YOU ALL. |
